Classic Hohner sound in a small light box.Made in Germany in the 50s so great sound and build quality compared to a new Chinese box.Unusualy for a box this size it has three treble couplers giving three distinct sounds, unlike most which have no couplers and only one sound. The overall condition is very good with sound bellows and all keys and buttons sounding in tune, and playing as they should.
To buy a new Chinese version of poorer quality cost about £350,a new German or Italian would be around £800 if available, but most nowadays have no coupler variation at this size. The keys are full 3/4 inch so it is suitable for adult or child use.Having only 12 bass buttons it is less confusing to play than one with upto 120 crammed together.
As I said you can get a new Chinese model such as Scarlatti or Stephanelli at about £350,but these are not of the same sound quality and have a poor reputation for build quality and short life.Hohner does a small unit but it is £1000.
There is another one of these on sale on ebay at £325,but not as good condition (under Hohner Super).
Post is available at £15, aauditions welcome if you can get to Kelso.
